IMG Launches Rach Lon Bridge – A Project with Strong Community Impact

On the morning of March 17, 2026, at Thoi An B Hamlet, Vinh Huu Commune, Dong Thap Province, the groundbreaking ceremony for Rach Lon Bridge was held with the participation of local leaders, representatives of the sponsoring enterprise, the contractor, and a large number of residents.

Beyond a typical infrastructure project, the event marks the beginning of a socially meaningful development that will enhance mobility, strengthen regional connectivity, and support local economic growth. Rach Lon Bridge is located on the Hung Hoa – Long Binh route, a key transport corridor facilitating daily travel and agricultural logistics.

Addressing Critical Local Infrastructure Needs

As demand for transportation and goods movement continues to rise, rural transport infrastructure in many areas remains inadequate. Rach Lon Bridge is one such bottleneck, as the existing structure has deteriorated over time, with a narrow deck that no longer accommodates current traffic volumes. This situation not only disrupts daily life but also directly impacts local production activities, particularly the transportation of agricultural products –  the primary income source for many households.

In response, local authorities mobilized socialized funding to construct a new bridge. The project will feature a reinforced concrete structure, approximately 29 meters in length with 3 spans and a bridge width of 2.7 meters. The total investment is estimated at VND 486 million, fully sponsored by IMG.

The construction of a new bridge has long been the aspiration of local residents.”

For residents of Thoi An B Hamlet, the new bridge represents more than just infrastructure – it fulfills a long-standing expectation. With the old bridge in poor condition, daily travel – especially for students and the elderly – has been risky. The commencement of the new project brings not only convenience but also a sense of safety and optimism for a more stable and prosperous future.

Mr. Nguyen Van Kim Anh, a local resident representative, stated: “The old bridge was deteriorated, making travel difficult and unsafe, especially for students and the elderly. Today, we are very happy that our long-awaited wish has finally come true.”
